In the vast landscape of liberal arts education, research holds a pivotal position. As the first innovative liberal arts university in the mainland of China, BNBU has consistently adhered to the core philosophy of balancing education and research, deeply integrating scientific elements into its liberal arts education system. By meticulously constructing a synergistic development model of "teaching-research mutual enhancement and research-driven teaching," the university has successfully pioneered a distinctive development paradigm for research-led liberal arts university with global vision.

In the current era driven by AI and big data, our university has keenly identified societal needs and actively engaged in promoting the deep integration of AI with interdisciplinary fields. To this end, the university has established high-level interdisciplinary research and teaching platforms, such as Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Research and Application for Data Science, Key Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Modal Data Processing of Department of Education of Guangdong Province, the Postdoctoral Research Station in Mathematics and Statistics, the Institute for Advanced Study, and the School of AI and Liberal Arts. These platforms provide robust momentum for the flourishing of specialized disciplines while collaborating to create an intelligent, interdisciplinary education model that fosters knowledge exchange, innovation, and elevates research and teaching to new heights.

Simultaneously, our university is committed to advancing technological innovation and industrial upgrading for the Greater Bay Area. To achieve this, we have established Industrial-University Research Collaboration Centre (Collaborative Innovation Center) and Maker Center, leveraging our disciplinary strengths and educational resources to focus on building an industry-academia-research ecosystem that bridges cutting-edge scientific research with practical application and transformation.

Talent is the foundation of research. Our university actively recruits exceptional minds worldwide, attracting top-tier international scholars and experts from diverse fields such as humanities, sciences, business, and arts. This has enabled us to assemble a highly capable and creative international faculty team, laying a solid talent foundation for research endeavors.
